SKU Generator

    Every item in the engineering domain has a part number, and this applies to documents. Being a Technical Writer, I never worried about the document part number while working for the pure software domain, though it may be desirable to have a part number. Part numbers become essential in an industry in which both software and hard are converging.

The part number needs to conform to some standard for it to be meaningful. We can use an SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) Number Generator to generate part numbers.
